A Competitive Quarterfinals Day for the Anchor Premier League
The eight qualifying teams were eagerly awaiting the quarterfinals of Anchor Premier League, which took place yesterday. Exceptional performances were seen by each of the eight teams, keeping the spectators gripped onto the matches from beginning to the end. Unfortunately, only four teams could qualify for the semifinals.
Sportobuddy congratulates Roaring Lions (Walkeshwar), Anchor Stallions (Bandra), Giant Megalodons (Central Chembur) and Deadly Scorpions (Kemps Corner) for playing some fantastic cricket yesterday and wishes them all the best for tomorrow, where they will be battling it out for a place in the Final.
Quarterfinal 1 saw Roaring Lions who sneaked into the quarterfinals defeat one of the best, if not the best team Raging Rhinos with the help of some power hitting by Shailesh Maniyar. Raging Rhinos think they lost because of the early morning conditions but Captain, Pratik Chitalia doesn’t agree to that and has promised to bounce back harder in My Father My Anchor.
Quarterfinal 2 saw Anchor Stallions narrowly defeat Wild Zebras with the help of a brilliant all-round performance by Sujit Sawant. There was a ray of hope for Wild Zebras with Anchor Stallions' slow over rate but that was also ruled out by the umpires. There are huge expectations from Anchor Stallions and Captain, Siddharth Bihani to lift the trophy.
Quarterfinal 3 saw Giant Megalodons with the help of Vishal Pandey live up to their name by hammering Brawny Bulls, bowling them out in just 11.2 overs. Brawny Bulls just gave up on their last two matches. We hope they bounce back in My Father My Anchor.
Quarterfinal 4, a nail-biting match where Deadly Scorpions just crossed the line by defeating Fierce Mustangs on the last ball in one of the closest matches Anchor Premier League has seen. Sahil Shah was instrumental in restricting Fierce Mustangs to a respectable total and Sagar Masrani helped them finish the game in style. Sagar Masrani displayed the first Greatwhite Switch Shot in this match. And kudos to Vishal Shah who led Fierce Mustangs yesterday for their performance in a worthy quarterfinal match, both teams deserved to win but there could only be one winner. Once they have their full squad back, we can expect bigger fireworks in My Father My Anchor.
Will Giant Megalodons make it two in a row after their Anchor Perfect 10 capture or will Deadly Scorpions end their impressive run? And will Roaring Lions' fairytale run continue, or will the seasoned amateurs Anchor Stallions mark their spot in the finals of Anchor Premier League 2019?
Who do you think will be one step closer to lifting that beautiful Anchor Premier League trophy?
Stay tuned to Sportobulletin to find out!
